Requirements: students studied the Japanese tea ceremony and were to design a building which embraced the traditional aspects of the ceremony, in a nontraditional aesthetic. The shape is inspired by wisteria. The tea house barely sits over a cliff so that it requires self confidence, security and trust that you're not falling off. It is hidden reiteration that brings out the importance of relaxation and peace for the ceremony.
